His work often examines social issues and depicts the feelings of estrangement experienced by individuals in modern society. Haneke has made films in French, German, and English and has worked in television and theatre.
The way he's able to use black and white film to enhance the unsettling horror of the subject matter, where everything feels incredibly precise and controlled, and then the chaos erupts.
