Synopsis

I saw that film [The Virgin Spring] in film school. It was, of course, a great film. It was the simplicity of the story and the very simple and direct emotion that was felt from that film. I thought it was very primal. And it occurred to me that that was a very accessible, direct story, and that it would be interesting to do a contemporary version of it.
