I really admire the work of David Lynch, especially Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive. His films teach me that you can create a feeling of dread and mystery purely through atmosphere and sound, without necessarily explaining everything. That kind of narrative ambiguity and unsettling mood is something I try to achieve in my own work.
