Synopsis
A young girl whose father is an ex-convict and whose mother is a junkie finds it difficult to conform and tries to find comfort in a quirky combination of Elvis and the punk scene.

Totally. That’s something I was looking for. There are two films that really were big influences that I’m sure you could tell. One is Ratcatcher, and the other is Dennis Hopper’s Out of the Blue. That one in particular, I think, for the energy of Linda Manz. That was an influence on Brooklynn [Prince, who plays Moonee]. Just that rebellious, anti-authority, punk energy. The two films, Ratcatcher and Out of the Blue, really gave me the confidence to shoot a film where children are at the center o
