Cinema Atlas Connection
On the Criterion Blu-ray audio commentary for 'The Age of Innocence', Martin Scorsese discussed how Luchino Visconti's period dramas, particularly 'Senso' (1954) and 'The Leopard' (1963), were crucial influences for their visual grandeur, meticulous historical detail, and their ability to convey the suffocating nature of aristocratic society.
