Synopsis

After a successful robbery leaves famed thief Lupin the Third and his partner Jigen with nothing but a large amount of expertly crafted counterfeit bills, he decides to track down the forgers responsible—and steal any other treasures he may find in the Castle of Cagliostro, including the 'damsel in distress' he finds imprisoned there.

Cinema Atlas Connection
I remember when I saw 'Castle of Cagliostro,' it was a revelation. It had everything in it. There was action, there was humor, there was suspense, there was genuine emotion. It was a complete meal of a movie, and the animation was so fluid and just perfect for what they were doing.

All animators in Japan have been influenced by Miyazaki and by The Castle of Cagliostro. The way that Lupin moves in that film, the way that he handles objects—that's all very important basic knowledge for Japanese animators.
