I grew up with films like Stroszek, Fat City, Nashville. These films really influenced me early on because it’s almost a subgenre of film where the outcasts are the ones who are in the spotlight. I always gravitated towards that.
He's always taking risks, pushing boundaries, and has this wonderful way of capturing moments in such a unique way. Stroszek has certainly informed my way of making films, and how I often work with non-actors and integrate improvisational elements into my shoots.
